5 Key Cannabis Sales Trends for Holiday 2021

When it comes to “holidays” in the cannabis advertising world, the first date that comes to mind is the obvious one: April 20th.
Since it’s a cannabis-specific holiday, dispensaries and brands will usually use 4/20 to push big sales and discounts. But as cannabis goes mainstream and more states start to legalize, other holidays are becoming important opportunities for cannabis advertising as well.
In a recent interview with Ad Week, Surfside co-founder Michael Blanche talked about how traditional, seasonal holidays - usually the ones that retail companies get excited about - are something that should be in every cannabis marketer’s playbook.
“As the industry matures, there are great opportunities to get net-new customers on mainstream holidays, those that aren’t specific to the cannabis industry,” Michael told Ad Week. “This gives dispensaries and brands another reason to communicate with consumers, build awareness and maintain relevance.”
